    The paper Decoding Affective States without Labels: Bimodal Image-brain Supervision has been nominated for best paper award at the 27th ACM International Conference on Multimodal Interaction (ICMI 2025). This paper is authored by IR lab members Vadym Gryshchuk, Maria Maistro, Christina Lioma, and Tuukka Ruotsalo. Congratulations!

The award is given for their ACM TORS paper Evaluation Measures of Individual Item Fairness for Recommender Systems: A Critical Study.

  • IR lab members won the second place in WSDM Spotify Challenge

    May 2019

    Researchers from the IR lab competed in the Spotify Sequential Skip Prediction Challenge at WSDM Cup. The task of the competition was to predict if users will skip or listen to the music they are currently streaming. The team won the second place with a deep learning approach described in the following paper: Modelling Sequential Music Track Skips using a Multi-RNN Approach.
